Practising a station

Pick, talk, score.

  1. 1Pick a station

On the Practice page, search by title or jump straight to a reference number (type "PQ-23" or just "23"). Stations are grouped by category in the dropdown if you'd rather browse.
  2. 2Set difficulty, accent, and mode

Difficulty controls how cooperative the patient is (Gentle / Exam-ready / Difficult patient). Accent controls how strong the patient's Australian accent is (Mild / Thick / Outback — Outback adds genuine slang). Mode picks how you answer: audio + typed, audio only, typed only, or Monologue (talk for the full station with no back-and-forth, useful for pure content-recall practice).
  3. 3Start and respond

Hit Start. Depending on the station, either you or the patient speaks first. Record your answer (tap Record, speak, tap Stop) or type it — the patient replies in character, and the conversation continues until the timer runs out or you're ready to finish.
  4. 4Score it

Tap "Score now" any time, or let the timer run out — it scores automatically. You'll get a per-criterion rubric report, a global rating (very good / satisfactory / borderline / unsatisfactory), and the crucial points for that station shown immediately while the full assessment finishes.

After a station

Turn one attempt into the next better one.

  1. 1Read the rubric report

Each criterion is scored individually with feedback, so you can see exactly which part of the answer needed work, not just an overall number.
  2. 2Leave a private note

Every station has a private note field — jot down what you missed or want to remember next time. It's yours alone, editable any time, and shows up automatically before you restart that station.
  3. 3Flag or rate a station

Spot something wrong with a station's content, or want to tell us it was great (or not)? Use the flag/rating buttons on the results screen — we review every flag.

Your dashboard

Where you stand, and what to do next.

  1. 1Exam readiness gauge

A single readiness score plus your percentile against everyone else practising, so you know roughly where you stand.
  2. 2Practise next

A smart recommendation — usually a re-run of a recent low scorer, or a fresh station from your weakest category.
  3. 3Streak, heatmap, boss battles

Track daily activity, see which categories you're strongest/weakest in at a glance, and get a shortlist of your toughest unresolved stations to go back and beat.
  4. 4Station progress table

Every station you've attempted, with your trend (improving/declining), best and latest score, and your private note right there in the row.

Other features

The extras.

  1. 1Mock Circuit (back soon)

A full multi-station circuit run back-to-back, exam-day style — no peeking at feedback until the whole circuit ends, then a combined report. It's temporarily hidden while we polish it.
  2. 2Exam outcome tracking

Sat the real ADC exam? Log the result on your dashboard — it feeds an anonymous, aggregate "candidates who practised X amount passed at Y rate" data set that helps everyone calibrate.
  3. 3VIP code

Got a code from an early-access invite? Redeem it from the quota banner on the Practice page for extra free attempts.

Scoring tips

The habits the examiner rewards most.

  • ✓Greet, confirm the patient, and take a medical history before any diagnosis — examiners mark the order.
  • ✓When you've finished explaining, ask “Does that make sense?” or “Any questions?” — that's when the patient raises their worries.
  • ✓Offer options including doing nothing, give a pro and a con for each, and let the patient choose.
  • ✓Close with safety-netting: what to watch for, and when to come back urgently.
